Press Release for Congressional Candidates Forum

SweetwaterGOP to host Congressional Candidates Forum

Rock Springs, Wyoming – July 7, 2016 – The Sweetwater County Republican Party will host a Congressional Candidates Forum on Monday, July 11, at the Performing Arts Theatre at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this free event.

It will begin with a reception at 5:00pm, where snacks will be provided. The forum will follow at 6:00pm and continue until 8:00pm.

Steve Core, General Manager and Sports Director of The Radio Network, will moderate the forum. Core, an award winning broadcaster, is the 2016 Wyoming Sportscaster of the Year.

All Republican candidates for Wyoming’s lone U.S. House seat were invited to attend. Liz Cheney, Leland Christensen, Paul Paad, Rex Rammell, Jason Senteney, and Darin Smith have confirmed their attendance. Heath Beaudry and Tim Stubson cannot attend due to previous commitments, and Mike Konsmo has not responded to requests.

During the evening, the Sweetwater County Republican Party will also have a silent auction. Many unique items, donated by Wyoming’s statewide and federal elected officials will be available.

This is a great opportunity for voters to meet many of their congressional candidates, and to hear firsthand how the candidates stand on various issues. Questions were provided by members of the Sweetwater County Republican Party, and topics may include education, federal overreach, budgets, energy, the Second Amendment, international trade, national security, healthcare, and more.
